Patience or صَبْرٌ generally means the ability to wait. Preserve. Go on despite all difficulties poured over you without uttering a single complaint about it. According to Surah Al-Qasas verse 54, people who practice sabr will have double rewards from Allah SWT. Through Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, our holy Prophet SAW also once said that Sabr is a great gift that no one can have it easy.
To discuss what we can gain from being patience is countless. We may start with it as the answers to all problems. Whenever we encounter a bad crisis, struggling dilemma or mere confusion, we may take a step back and sit down. While doing so, we take all the time to list out the possible outcomes and weighing the pros and cons altogether. The moment you have absolute confidence in marking a decision, you may make a choice. This is pertinent as your decision-making will lead to consequences that are all on you. You own your choice and suffer the consequences.
Next, patience keeps us destined for success. Exercising patience will have your guard up and be more collected facing all life obstacles. Not everyone is happy seeing working ourselves to achieve great success and most of these people will strive to drag you down. They might mock you down or blast you with non-stop pressure but an individual with great perseverance will lead his life to worthy goals ignoring these snarky remarks. Thus, being patience is not only a good attribute for oneself but also a shield to prepare you better four life.
Last but not least, patience brings peace to our life. Little did we know that patience actually makes up your mind or the way you are thinking. Arranging the matters based on the level of priorities will save us lots of time and incoming pressure. No more trivial matter that will distract us from achieving our very best. A clear mind will enlighten us better ways of life and choice, in which this is how a great Muslim shall conduct himself to.
If we may recall that our Prophet SAW is the best example of how patience can strengthen one's spirit and belief. He was once was hit by stones, thrown by Thaif's people. A woman also used to spat on him. He did not let anger consumed himself, rather show great perseverance and eventually these guys have their eyes opened, seeing the real truth about our holy religion, Islam. Alhamdulillah.
